For Immediate Release:
UNIVERSITY OF GUELPH HOSTS ANNUAL TURF MANAGERS’ SHORT COURSE
GUELPH, Ont. – This winter, the most successful and highly valued turf managers’ short course in Canada will be located at the Guelph Turfgrass Institute. Between February 1 and 26, 2021, participants from across North America and in various sectors of the turfgrass industry will gather for the intensive Turf Managers’ Short Course (TMSC).
Taught by highly regarded University of Guelph (U of G) faculty and industry professionals, students will gain insight on more than eight topics including turfgrass management, insects, diseases, weeds and Integrated Pest Management. Instructors will also explore recent turfgrass issues, latest research initiatives, and best management practices.
“We have the premiere turfgrass science researchers in Canada in one location,” says Dr. Tom Hsiang, TMSC instructor and U of G professor in the School of Environmental Sciences. “Potential employers do see the completion of this course as a benefit since applicants would have new technical information and exposure to a wide range of turf-related issues.”
Online registration is now open and early bird pricing ends on Friday, November 6, 2020.
The Turf Managers’ Short Course is accredited by the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association, Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, and IPM Council of Canada.
