Soils at Guelph is a collaborative initiative to increase awareness of research, facilitate partnerships and knowledge exchange among stakeholders, and to educate on the importance of soil health. As this initiative continues to develop, the Soils at Guelph program could become a valuable resource for turfgrass managers to access important and novel information on how to best manage the health of their soil and foster best management practices in order to protect and strengthen this invaluable resource.

The life and career of legendary Canadian turfgrass educator and University of Guelph Professor Emeritus Dr. Jack L. Eggens. Dr. Jack, as he was known to his many students, was a key figure in the development of the turfgrass program at the University of Guelph and founder of the annual Turf Managers Short Course. He is best remembered for his enthusiastic and entertaining teaching style that had a significant and lasting impact on the many students he taught over the course of his career. Originally presented at the Ontario Turfgrass Symposium at the University of Guelph on February 19, 2014.
